Gavin Hunter
Joint Managing Director
With 30 years of dedicated experience at Boshard Construction, Gavin has grown from a trainee buyer in 1992 into a fully qualified Quantity Surveyor and now serves as Joint Managing Director. Gavin is a passionate businessman committed to empowering young entrepreneurs and sharing his extensive know-how to foster industry growth and employment in the region. He serves as a director of both the Western Cape Business Opportunities Forum (WECBOF) and Business Western Cape (Pty) Ltd (BWC), reflecting his deep involvement in driving the regional economy. His leadership underscores his firm belief in the transformative power of construction as a key driver for infrastructural development. Gavin is married and a proud father of three.
Shaun Pearce
Joint Managing Director
With an impressive 39-year tenure at Boshard Construction, Shaun has played a pivotal role in shaping the company’s legacy of excellence. Since joining the business, Shaun has progressed through a series of senior management roles, culminating in his appointment as Joint Managing Director in 2008. A graduate of the Cape Peninsula University of Technology, Shaun holds both a National Diploma and a National Higher Diploma in Construction Supervision. He is also a registered Professional Construction Manager with the South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions (SACPCMP).
Shaun is deeply committed to transforming visionary architectural concepts into meaningful, high-impact developments. His passion for construction is evident in his relentless drive to enhance community spaces and contribute to a more resilient built environment. He is especially passionate about teaching and guiding his peers, fostering a culture of mentorship and continuous learning within the organisation.
Nazmi Bassadien
Contracts Director
Nazmi Bassadien, with 26 years of industry experience, excels as our Contracts Director by overseeing the smooth execution of key projects. He maintains rigorous standards in client relations, project management, and quality control, ensuring that every project adheres to safety and environmental standards. Inspired by early experiences on building sites with his father, Nazmi has consistently developed his skills through continuous education, including completing the Executive Development Programme at Stellenbosch University’s Business School. A devoted family man, Nazmi is married with three sons and maintains an active lifestyle as a keen cyclist and trail runner.
Phindile Sodawe
Commercial Director
With nearly two decades in the construction industry, Phindile brings extensive expertise in financial and contractual management. Starting his career at Power Construction as a Junior Quantity Surveyor in 2002, he joined Boshard Construction in 2007 as a Quantity Surveyor, progressing to Commercial Director in 2016. As a key leader in the business, Phindile oversees the financial strategy and risk management of our projects, ensuring cost efficiency, contractual integrity, and budget optimisation. His role includes identifying potential financial risks, developing mitigation strategies, and driving sustainable project execution. Holding a National Diploma in Building and a BTech in Quantity Surveying from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology, Phindile further strengthened his leadership capabilities through an Executive Development Programme at Stellenbosch University’s Business School. His expertise and strategic foresight continue to shape Boshard Construction’s commitment to precision, efficiency, and long-term value.
